PURPOSE:To provide a water film forming device which can form a water film having a uniform thickness on a casting drum. CONSTITUTION:This device possesses a main wet air blow-off device 21 arranged in close vicinity to a casting drum 4. The body 24 of the main wet air blow-off device 21 possesses a chamber 25 confrontable with the casting drum 4. A pipe 26 to discharge wet air within the chamber 25 and a sheathed heater 23 which can establish the body 24 at a temperature not exceeding a temperature higher by 30 deg.C than the temperature of the wet air are provided within the body 24. In this device, the wet air is discharged within the chamber 25 through the pipe 26, the wet air is dewed on the surface of the casting drum 4 and becomes the water film. Since the body 24 is established at the foregoing temperature, the wet air within the pipe 26 and chamber 25 is hard to condense. Therefore, the wet air having stabilized quantity of moisture is supplied to the casting drum 4 through a dew box 21. |
