PURPOSE:To obtain a sampler of a machine for producing cigarettes with a filter. CONSTITUTION:The sampler is equipped with a sampling drum 35 so as to be brought into rolling contact with a conveying drum 24 in a filter attachment, extraction holders, i.e., extraction grooves 54 periodically approaching and opposing to conveying grooves 28 of the conveying drum 24, a notched recessed part 42, formed in the sampling drum 35 and capable of supplying a higher extracting suction pressure (P3) than a conveying and suction pressure [P2 (P1], a shutter 58, attached to a control sleeve 38 in the sampling drum 35 and used as a valve for controlling the supply of the extracting suction pressure (P3) to the extraction grooves 54, an electromagnetic actuator 62, an atmospheric opening groove 64, formed on the outer peripheral surface of the control sleeve 38 and releasing the extracting suction pressure after the sampling and a collecting guide 65 for leading cigarettes (FTS) with a filter sampled from the sampling drum 35 to a sample pan 23.
