A decantation centrifuge is claimed incorporating a housing (1), a drum (2) and an endless screw (5). Some conical bodies (10,11) are installed concentrically around the conical part of the drum (2) in order to reduce the residual water content in the solid materials in the highly dispersed solid phase. An outer body (10) is assembled rigidly to the drum (2) whilst an inner body (11) is mounted on the drum of the endless screw (4). Additional endless screws (12,13) are fixed to the outer faces of the drum (2) and the inner body (11) to carry the solid materials. A heating jacket may be fixed around the housing (1) to improve the drying effect and for sepg. crystals that are lighter than the filtrate a filter cloth may be incorporated, the filtrate being evacuated via a separate chamber and evacuation pipe. To further improve drying in this latter case, a condenser or vacuum pumping system may also be provided.
