PURPOSE:To form an indication excellent in discoloration or wear resistance even on the key top other than the one made from polyester resin using heat sublimating ink. CONSTITUTION:A method for forming indications 3 such as letters and symbols covered with a protecting layer 2 on the surface of a key top 1 comprises a first process wherein a transparent ultraviolet curable resin is formed on a heat-resisting, flexible plate material sheet 4 and heated for semi-curing to produce a protecting layer 2, a second process wherein an indication 3 is printed on the protecting layer 2 using a heat sublimating ink, a third process wherein a key top 1 is covered with the plate material sheet 4, this sheet is heated while being pressed by a transfer jig 5 to transfer the indication 3 thereon and the protecting layer 2 is attached thereto, a fourth process wherein the plate material sheet 4 is separated from the key top and a fifth process wherein the indication 3 is cured by irradiating with ultraviolet rays 6. |
