PURPOSE:To provide a piezoelectric electrostrictive material giving sufficiently large strain even in a temp. region below room temp. and hardly shifting an electric field for phase transition at a low temp. CONSTITUTION:This piezoelectric electrostrictive material has a compsn. represented by a general formula [Pb1-x-0.5aBaxNba{(Zr1-bSnb)1-yTiy}1-aO3]1-k[Pb(M1/3R2/3)O3]k (where M is Co or Ni, R is Ta or Nb, 0.01<=a<=0.03, 0.2<=b<=0.6, 0.01<=x, 0.04<=(2/3)x+y<=0.075 and 0.01<=k<=0.05). |
