PURPOSE:To provide a lithium secondary battery provided with high energy density and excellent cycle characteristic by using a negative electrode, for which lithium is effectively and stably doped in a carbon black of specific particulate characteristic. CONSTITUTION:For a lithium secondary battery, a metal lithium forming a negative electrode active material is held by a carbon black having a certain particulate characteristic: namely the DBP oil absorption is no less than 100ml/100g, and the arithmetic mean primary particulate size is no less than 40nm, and a negative electrode is thus formed. When heat treatment is carried out for the carbon black at a temperature of no less than 900 deg.C in non-oxidizing atmosphere, to form a negative electrode carrier, further effect is achieved. |
