PURPOSE:To reduce the battery consumption of a hand set by extending the intermittent reception period of a time band, in which the frequency of the generating a control signal from a base unit is extremely low, such as night time rather than the intermittent reception period of a time band, in which the frequency of the generating the control signal from the base unit is high, such as daytime. CONSTITUTION:At the time of the receiving operation of a hand set 1, a CPU 15 controls a power supply part 7 and supplies power from a battery 6 to a reception part 3. When the CPU 15 judges the absence of a channel carrier from the reception part 3, the power supply part 7 stops supplying power to the reception part 3 so as to stop control channel monitor. The stop of reception is continued for about 3 seconds by a longinterval intermittent reception timer 10, after the lapse of about three seconds, a receiving operation state is set again, and the receiving operation and the reception stop are repeated. When end time stored in a switching part 14 is coincident with the time of a 24-hour timer 12, the CPU 15 switches a timer switching part 11 to the side of a standard-interval intermittent reception timer 9. Then, the hand set 1 performs intermittent reception again at standard intervals until the next start time. As a result, the number of monitor operations is decreased, and the consumption of the battery is reduced. |
