Gas absorption appts. comprises a cartridge (20) with at least one impermeable lateral wall (23) on a porous base (22), supporting an absorbent bed (30), and a porous lid. The bed consists of absorbent elements formed by spherical expanded polystyrene supports coated with a thin layer of active material.Cartridge (20) is cylindrical and enclosed in a cylindrical basket (10) with at least one handle (12). Absorbent comprises an agglutinant and a surface tension agent. Active constituent is iron oxide. Supports are balls of expanded polystyrene or cellular PVC.
