OPTICAL BRANCHING-MULTIPLEXING WAVEGUIDE CIRCUIT

摘要

PURPOSE:To suppress the deviation of peak position of light power at the end of the multiplexing waveguide of a Y-shaped waveguide structure and to reduce unevenness in branching ratio. CONSTITUTION:When two branching waveguides12, 13 are connected to one multiplexing waveguide 11 in Y shape to obtain an optical branching- multiplexing waveguide circuit, a curved waveguide part 11a having a prescribed radius of curvature is formed in the multiplexing waveguide 11. Radiation-mode light causing the deviation of the peak position of light power at the end of the multiplexing waveguide 11 and unevenness in branching ratio is satisfactorily radiated in the curved waveguide 11a and only waveguide-mode light is propagated in the waveguide 11.
