PURPOSE:To reduce the disturbance of a dead volume and constituent gas so as to uniformly heat a light pipe main body by slanting both end opening faces of the main body at specific angles against the axis of the main body and providing a leading-in and leading-out passages at obtuse angles against a flow passage. CONSTITUTION:The main body 2 of the light pipe 1 can be split into two parts 2a and 2b and the parts 2a and 2b are stuck to each other with gold foil. Both end opening faces of the main body 2 are parallel with each other and the slanted angles M of the faces are set at 30-80 deg. against the axis of the main body 2. The bending angles of a leading-in and leading-out passages 2d and 2e against a flow passage 2c are set at obtuse angles. At the time of using the light pipe 1, a constituent gas is led in the pipe 1 from the passage 2d and led out from the passage 2e after flowing through the passage 2c. Analysis is carried out by introducing light in an infrared region into the passage 2c from an inlet 7 through an infrared-ray transmitting window 3 and taking out the light from an outlet 8. It is preferable to use a precious metal or its alloy which can be precisely machined and has high heat conductivity for the main body 2 in order to easily machine and uniformly heat the main body 2. |
