PURPOSE:To provide a long-time recording mode capable of recording for time twice as long and to make easy reproducing possible using a 1/2 slow reproduc ing function and a filter inside a line. CONSTITUTION:In the case of the recording in a standard mode, video signals supplied to an input terminal 20 are made into blocks at a first shuffling device 21, pass through a first switch 26 switched to an S side and are supplied to an orthogonal transformation device 28. In the case of the recording in a long- time mode, sample points are thinned out one by one at a thinning filter 2 constituted of a sub filter inside a field. Then, one transmission field signal is newly constituted of continuous two fields at a transmission field constituting device 24. One transmission field signal is made into blocks at a second shuffling device 25, pass through the first switch 26 switched to an L side and are supplied to the orthogonal transformation device 28. The output signals of the orthgonal transformation device 28 are compressed at a compressor 29 and recorded on a magnetic tape 35. |
