PURPOSE:To improve water retention characteristic by applying a coating liquid containing a specified water-soluble synthetic polymer on a layer containing physical developing nucleus and specifying pH of the coating liquid. CONSTITUTION:The planographic printing material has a silver halide emulsion layer and a layer containing physical developing nucleus on a supporting body and is used for silver complex salt diffusion transfer method. The physical developing nucleus layer is coated with a coating liquid containing a water-soluble synthetic polymer expressed by formula I or/and II. The coating liquid is controlled to pH>4. In the formula I, R1 is H or alkyl group and n is 100-3500. In the formula II, R2 is H or alkyl group and R3 is H or alkali metal. n:m=(10:0) to (1:9), and the polymerization degree (n+m) is 100-3500. By this method, printing characteristics, especially water retention characteristic, are improved and aging stability is improved. |
