PURPOSE:To enable recording/reproducing of an equipment control signal in a magnetic recording and reproducing device with a rotary head digital recording/reproducing plural channels of audio signals to be conducted. CONSTITUTION:By a converter circuit 112, the equipment control signal is converted to a signal equal to one channel of digital coded audio signal, and in an outer ECC generation circuit 104, identification codes are recorded in respective channels. By the identification codes in respective channels read by an outer error correction circuit 119, the signal of the channel that the equipment control signal is recorded is inputted in an inverse transformation circuit 125, and the equipment control signal is reproduced. |
