<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a sensor for motor protector exhibiting high reliability in the operation. CONSTITUTION: The sensor 10 for motor protector comprises a miniature thermistor 12 having low thermal inertia contained in a high temperature insulating cover member 14. In the cover member 14, an electrically insulated lead wire 20 is connected with the thermistor 12 on the opposite sides 16, 18 thereof. The lead wire 20 extends from the inside of the cover member 14 to an external current source and supplies a current to the thermistor 12. An electrically insulating and thermally conducting cylinder elastomer 22 wraps the end parts of the thermistor 12 and the lead wire 20 and absorbs a force being applied to the sensor 10 thus protecting the electric connection between the thermistor 12 and the lead wire 20 and protecting the thermistor 12 against damage. Furthermore, the lead wires 20 projecting from the cover member 14 are stranded and covered with another sleeve-like cover member 24 thus protecting the electrical connection between the lead wire 20 and the surface of the thermistor 12 against being interrupted.</p> |
