PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform accurate recognition even if a plurality of persons approach the apparatus from the same direction by recognizing and judging whether the person uses the apparatus or not with respect to the body, whose distance from a distance sensor is the shortest. CONSTITUTION:Distance sensors 6 using infrared rays are mounted so that the light emitting and receiving directions of each sensor are slightly shifted in order to obtain high resolution. A sensor driving part 7 receives the driving of the sensors 6 and the measured distance data based on the sampling signal from a control part 11 and sends the measured distance data to a body to a parameter extracting part 8. The extracting part 8 extracts and computes the parameters of the characteristic amounts required for the recognition and various kinds of judgment for body that is the object for response based on the distance data. A recognizing and judging part 9 receives the parameters formed in the extracting part 8 directly or through a memory device 13 and judges whether the object body is the user of the apparatus or not with respect to the body located at the shortest distance when a plurality of the bodies approach the apparatus. |
