PURPOSE:To provide the database system from which a desired picture is retrieved efficiently in a short period of time by having only to input retrieval information once. CONSTITUTION:A picture file (picture file means) 1B, a retrieval key entry section 4, a display priority information entry section (code input means) 5, a control,section (read means) 1C and a display section 6 are provided in the system. Even when lots of pictures are registered in the picture file 1B as to a same keyword (e.g. name of a person), only a picture with a display priority mark is read by the control section 1C among the entire pictures stored corresponding to the keyword and displayed on a display section 6 by using the retrieval key entry section 4 to enter the keyword and using the display priority information entry section 5 to enter the display priority mark (identification code), then the desired picture is retrieved efficiently in a short period of time by inputting the retrieval information once. |
