PURPOSE:To obtain a method and a small-sized device for a color displaying liquid crystal suitable for e.g. a color view finder for a movie and with high resolution. CONSTITUTION:These method and device are constituted so that back lights 13, 14, 15 light emitting in R, G, B are provided on the rear surface of a liquid crystal display 1A, and R, G, B image signals by one picture converted from an image signal are time axis-compressed to 1/3 by a memory being a time axis conversion means and converted to a signal aligning at a prescribed order within a vertical scanning period, and the liquid crystal display 1A is driven by the time axis compressed R, G, B image signals, and the same color back light is lightened synchronizing with the drive signals. |
