<p>PURPOSE:To provide the liquid crystal display device which obviates the generation of the unequalness and defects within a display screen while using a nonlinear resistance element having electrodes essentially consisting of Ti and the process for production of this device. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display device has a liquid crystal layer 26 clamped between an upper substrate 24 and an array substrate 22 having the nonlinear resistance element 16. This array substrate has a metallic film 16a essentially consisting of the Ta formed on the substrate 20. The nonlinear resistance element 16 has a first metallic layer 16a formed with a part of the metallic film, a nonlinear resistance film 16b formed, with the oxide of the first metallic film and a second metallic film 16c essentially consisting of the Ti formed on the nonlinear resistance film. The area STa of the metallic film essentially consisting of the Ta and the area ST1 of the second metallic film are set at STa/S T13.3.</p> |
