PURPOSE:To reduce return light noise, by arranging a wavelength plate for preventing return light which has a specified phase delay amount, between a resonator and a semiconductor laser. CONSTITUTION:In the laser generating equipment, the following are arranged; a semiconductor laser 1 as a pumping light source, a solid laser medium 2 which radiates light by the effect of pumping of light from the semiconductor laser 1, and reflecting means (4, 5) which are positioned in the front and the rear of the solid laser medium 2 and constitute a laser resonator 6. A double refraction type element, e.g. a quater-wave plate (QWP) 7 is arranged in the laser resonator 6. Between the resonator 6 and the semiconductor laser 1, a wavelength plate 11 which has a specified phase delay amount and prevents return light is arranged. Thereby the polarization of the output light and that of the return light can be made to orthogonally intersect, so that the interference of the lights can be avoided and the return light noise of the semiconductor laser light can be avoided or improved. |
