<p>PURPOSE:To enable a retrieval of the recorded position of a magnetic tape to be conducted even though the program is discontinued by keeping to record at least the thickness of magnetic tape and the diameter of a reel hub in a memory and detecting the length of tape by the rotation frequencies of the reel and a capstan. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic medium cassette 1 is mounted on the recording/reproducing device 17, the magnetic tape is guided in the appropriate direction by guide rollers 47 provided on individual parts. To obtain the overall length of magnetic tape, the thickness of magnetic tape and the diameter of hub are kept to be recorded beforehand in the memory, and an FG frequency obtained from the frequency of the reel 7a at the take-up side is decided, then the overall length of magnetic tape can be calculated by obtaining the tape speed of magnetic tape. Thus, by recording the time code and data of recording start/finish positions together in the memory, even when so-called the time code is discontinued, the display of time including an unregistered recording part is allowed.</p> |
