Automatic establishment of signal processing sequence - establishing processing path and marking all modules with signal output, and basing sequence of operation upon marked sequence numbers

The processing sequence method is provided for a data processing system having a modular construction in which the modules have inputs and outputs and operate in a suitable sequence. The programme modules (B1-B14) are interconnected with the input and outputs. Some modules, e.g. B1,B4, have the same inputs (SE1-SE10). Others share the same outputs. The modules are configured to provide, functions such as digital and analogue outputs, single control functions and screen functions. For a module (B13) with a signal output, the processing path is established and all involved modules are marked. The sequence of operation is then based upon the marked sequence numbers, e.g. 1,2,3. ADVANTAGE - Provides automatic identification of module sequence.
