The glass roof is esp. for winter gardens which may be positioned close to the wall (1) of a house. The roof is transparent and is made up of a number of fixed window units (4) and a number of movable window units (5). The movable window units may slide over the fixed window units and may be moved by a set of chains or toothed belts (29) which pass over sprockets (31) near the building wall and further sprockets (30) at the lower end of the sloping roof adjacent to the gutter (3). The sliding windows may all be connected to one carrying element. USE/ADVANTAGE - Movable window units for sloping roof of winter garden may easily be adjusted to the desired position.
