Async. electrical generator operated at high slip values - has ends of rotor winding coupled to resistance on outside of main stator field

The generator has a stator and a rotor (3) within the main stator field having at least one winding (10) coupled at its ends to a resistance lying outside the main stator field. Pref. the rotor has a multi-phase winding with at least one resistance provided for each phase, the resistance value of which is greater than the resistance of the winding within the main stator field. The resistance may be provided by an auxiliary rotor (7). USE/ADVANTAGE - For heavy current generator with large slip value between rotor r.p.m. and rotating stator field.
