To replace the azeotropic mixture of chlorodifluoromethane and of chloropentafluoroethane (CFC 502) in low-temperature refrigeration, the invention proposes to employ a pseudoazeotropic mixture containing, on a mass basis, 1 to 15 % of difluoromethane, 37 to 50 % of pentafluoroethane and 35 to 62 % of 1,1,1-trifluoroethane. The thermodynamic properties of this mixture are very close to those of the mixture CFC 502.
