The surfaces of the basic workpieces (2,3) are made of precious metal and their alloys, preferably gold, platinum, silver, palladium, differing chiefly in colour and melting point are brought into mechanical contact and are pressed together. The arrangement of the basic workpieces is subjected to heat treatment by annealing, drawing, rolling, twisting, and/or snaking. At least one ball (5,6) fits into a recess (4) or round, polygonal, preferably square, hole in the basic workpiece. ADVANTAGE - Semi-finished products especially are further processed into jewellery pieces, using metal basic workpieces without extra materials.
