摘要 A inverter unit (11) has a smoothing capacitor across its output terminals with a parallel circuit delivering a h.f. output signal. It does this with the help of resonance between another capacitor, an inductor and diodes. There is also a capacitor to improve the input power factor. The load is in parallel with the resonance capacitor. The diodes are controlled so as to reduce the ripple in the current fed to the load. Twenty-five variations on the theme are illustrated. Some, for example, use a saturable reactor as part of the resonant circuit. Some have the driver as a stand-alone unit, some with it connected through from the rectifier bridge output.
