An individual thread guide with clamp or several thread guides with clamp are arranged on a thread guide exchange star pivotable in the work position on each knitting slide. At least one thread guide is a plating thread guide and each guide has a nut with two holes. The two holes (3,4) in the nut for feed of the thread to be plated (9,10) are provided in the thread running direction on the thread run-out side (6) with a guide, whereby the edge (5) of the hole (5) of the hole (4) for the invisible basic thread (9) is staged on the nut (2). The guide is formed by a notch slotted in the holes (3,40 feeding the threads (9,10) exactly one over the other to the knitting needle (8).
