The mullion or frame member (3) holds wall panels (4) which may be of different thicknesses. The frame member is of U-shaped cross-section with the top of the U-shape closed by a thin cover plate (13). The inside of the U is filled with insulating material (12). The top of the frame U-section has outward projecting flanges (6) engaging the outsides of the panel (4) edges. The insides of the edges are in contact with angle irons (16) with projecting edges engaging serrated regions or grooves in the outsides of the legs of the U-section frame (3). The panel edges are bedded in putty (15). Fastening members (10,11) at the bottom of the frame U-section attach it to the building structure (8).
