PURPOSE:To improve the sharpness of a read picture by forming a layer which cuts off part of reflected light from an original on electrodes facing an original. CONSTITUTION:A light-shielding electrode 13 is layered as a common electrode of respective photoelectric converting elements on a transparent substrate 7 except at a light guiding window 4, and a photoelectric member 5 covers the electrode 13 except at the window 4. Then, the member 5 is coated with a transparent electrode 14 except at the window 4 and the electrode 14 is covered with a light shielding metallic layer 15 except at the window and a photoelectric conversion part 5'. The top surface of a photodetection part 2 and the window 4 are covered with a transparent projection film 10. In this constitution, incident light (a) from a light emission source is projected on an original 1 through the window 4 and reflected light (b) from the original 1 is photodetected by the conversion part 5' at the circumference of the window 4. In this case, the conversion part 5' is so sectioned by the light shielding metallic layer 15 so that only signals from read picture elements are photodetected, and signals from picture elements adjoining to the read elements are not photodetected, so noise components are reduced. |
