PURPOSE:To improve workability with good safety by exerting an oil pressure to cylinder and piston devices to press right and left sleeve rolls thereby adjusting roll width. CONSTITUTION:The oil pressure is exerted to cylinder piston rods 22 attached to oscillating arms 21 by tuning cylinders to push simultaneously the right and left sleeve rolls 1. The rolls 1 are pushed out until the rolls contact with metallic fittings 6 for centering in the above-mentioned manner. The oil pressure is released and the rods 22 are reset to the home positions by spring mechanisms. A driving motor is run backward to swing backward the oscillating arms 21. Shims 3 having a prescribed thickness are inserted between an intermediate sleeve 2 and the rolls 1 and thereafter nuts 4 are turned to tighten the right and left rolls 1 by the fittings 6. The roll width is thus adjusted and the workability is remarkably improved. |
