A bag tie comprises a substantially flat plate 1 made of elastic material having a first opening 2 for accommodating the bag neck, and a second opening 3 communicating with the first opening 2, and extending to the outer periphery of the flat plate. The bag tie may also include integrally formed fixing means 5, 6. In use the tie 1 is fixed to the neck of a bag via the second opening 3 and the tie is tightened into a substantially conical shape with the first opening 2 as the apex by overlapping side portions of the flat plate on opposite sides of the second opening 3. The tie is fixed in this configuration using the fixing means 5, 6 or a separate fixing. The first opening preferably includes a number of inwardly projecting projections 2a. <IMAGE> |
