PURPOSE:To improve casting productivity and safety by providing temp. sensors to side sealing plates and disposing regulators for the temp. of the side sealing plates having heating and cooling nozzles. CONSTITUTION:The heating nozzles 4 and cooling nozzles 5 are separately provided to the outside of the side sealing plates 3 provided at both ends of the cooling rolls 1, 2, and the selective regulators 6 for the nozzles 4, 5 are disposed. The temp. sensors 7 such as thermocouples are embedded into the side sealing plates 3 and the regulators 6 are controlled in accordance with the temps. detected by the sensors and set temps. The side sealing plates 4 are heated by the heating nozzles 4 by the set signal in the stage of starting pouring and the side sealing plates are cooled by the cooling nozzles 4 after the target temp. of the plates 3 is attained. Since the temp. of the plates 3 is maintained at the set temp., the generation of edge break is prevented. Both the productivity and safety are thus improved. |
