Detecting and measuring inhibitors in well fluids

Corrosion and scale inhibitors in fluids obtained from a subterranean formation are separated, detected, and quantified by thin layer chromatography through the use of selected developing solvents and visualization reagents. Fluids are e.g. oil or oil/H2O mixtures. Solvents can be hexane and a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and ammonium hydroxide.
