An assembly of a shaft, e.g. a drive shaft, having an end portion (11) with external teeth, and a hub (13), e.g. the inner member of a constant velocity ratio universal joint, having internal teeth (14) engaging the external teeth (12) of the shaft end portion; wherein there is first securing means (15) engaging a groove or thread at the free end of the shaft, the teeth (12) on the shaft end portion extend axially beyond the hub in the direction of the opposite end of the shaft, and there is second securing means (20,30, 40, 50, 60, 70) which is plastically deformed in situ to be supported on runout portions of the teeth or an adjacent support face of the shaft, to support the hub in the direction of the opposite end of the shaft. <IMAGE> |
