PURPOSE:To obtain the zirconia powder for thermal spraying which has good meltability not only at plasma spraying but also at gas flame spraying, is difficult to be collapsed by transporting gas at thermal spraying, has good flowability, does not occur clogging phenomenon and defective supply in a tube and can form the thermal spraying film having excellent heat resistance, hardness, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and electrical conductivity, etc. CONSTITUTION:This zirconia powder for thermal spraying consists essentially of zirconium oxide, of <=1500A crystal diameter, cerium oxide and aluminum oxide, where the mol ratio of CeO2/ZrO2 is within a range of 8/92 to 20/80, the quantity of Al2O3 with respect to the total of zirconium oxide and cerium oxide is 10.5-19.5wt.%, the quantity of SiO2 with respect to the total of zirconium oxide and cerium oxide is <=0.01wt.% and average granule crushing strength is 0.10kgf/mm<2>. |
