PURPOSE: To maintain a quality standard by employing preassembly of components at a factory, which facilitates field installation of a cryogenic unit for gas separation in a cold box. CONSTITUTION: A pre-equipped subassembly, having a small cross section, is prepared, in a factory, from a distillation column 1 wherein a tubing element is arranged mainly one side of the column 1 so as to be inscribed in a side space, with its height indifferent to the thickness of a heat-insulating material required for a field operation in the column within a cold box. The subassembly is partially disposed in a transport cradle 4 which houses the side space 3. The subassemblies 1 and 2 are arranged, preferably together with the cradle 4, in a cold box comprising, for example, a cylindrical case, with at least one liquid gas reservoir provided in the case. This is utilized especially by an air distillation column of large size. |
