PURPOSE:To provide an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst which can clean NOx efficiently in a relatively high temperature range in excessive oxygen existing atmosphere like an exhaust gas of a lean combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust gas cleaning catalyst to remove nitrogen oxide from an exhaust gas containing excessive oxygen is a catalyst compound of a noble metal silicate wherein at least one noble metal selected from platinum, rhodium, palladium, iridium, and ruthenium is taken into its zeolite crystalline lattice. |
