PURPOSE:To clearly know at one glance how long carry can be obtained, in view of a gripping position on a golf club, by applying a mark for indicating the length of a golf club which is lower than that of the former golf club by one grade, of the former golf club at a position corresponding to the length of the lower grade golf club. CONSTITUTION:A mark 3 indicating the length of a golf club which is lower by one grade in view of at least the carry of a golf ball is applied on a grip 1 fitted on the shaft 2 of a golf club at a position corresponding to the length of the lower grade golf club. That is, if a #5 iron club is gripped at a position corresponding to the length of a #6 iron club and a full shot is made, the speed of the club head thereof comes to be equal to that which is obtained when a full shot with the #6 iron club is made. Since the loft angle of the #5 iron club is smaller than that of the #6 iron club, the carry with the #5 iron club gripped at a shorter length is longer than that of #6 iron club even at an equal head speed. If the grip 1 of the #5 iron club is gripped at the position of the mark 3 so as to perform a full shot of #5 iron club which is held at a shorter length, a carry between those obtained by #5 and #6 iron clubs can be also obtained. |
