FILTER AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: To remove soot particles and to function as a catalyst for removing or converting impurities and harmful components in exhaust gases with one filter unit by providing an improvement of conventional filters. CONSTITUTION: Filter plates 1 with one end open and the other end blocked are arranged in an overlapped manner such that inlet ducts 4 and outlet ducts 5 are formed alternately. An insert constituting a catalyst is inserted to the outlet duct 5 so that after soot in exhaust gas is removed by the filter plate 1, other harmful exhaust gas components are removed by the insert.
