WHEEL SUSPENSION-STEERING MECHANISM

PURPOSE:To allow the steering angle of a wheel to be set to 90 deg. or more to enable free travel by rotating a king pin by wheel steering mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A king pin 65 for supporting a wheel 104 rotatably in the journalled state is rotatably supported at the center part of a suspension member 28 with both ends thereof oscillatingly suspended in relation to a body through suspension arms 32, 33. The suspension member 28 is provided at its center part with a cylindrical housing body 30 for accommodating the wheel steering accelerating mechanism of wheel steering mechanism 29 linked with an actuator driven on the basis of the steering information of a steering system. The top part of the king pin 65 is then linked rotatably with the wheel steering accelerating mechanism. The steering information of the steering system is thereby transmitted to the wheel steering accelerating mechanism through the actuator. The king pin 65 is rotated in relation to the suspension member 28 by the king pin 65 so as to perform the steering of the wheel 104.
