PURPOSE:To provide an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst to clean hydrocarbon (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), and nitrogen oxide (NOX) which are harmful components contained in an exhaust gas which is discharged out of an internal combustion engine of automobiles, etc. CONSTITUTION:A catalyst for exhaust gas cleaning is composed of a first coating layer containing platinum or palladium and formed on an integrated structure type carrier and a second coating layer containing rhodium and formed on the first coating layer, and a metal oxide powder consisting mainly of 10-30mole% of cerium, 1-10mole% of neodymium, and 60-89mole% of zirconium as expressed in terms of metal is contained in the second coating layer. |
