PURPOSE:To provide an inhibitor containing tea polyphenol as an active component, effective in remarkably inhibiting the activity of tyrosinase by the addition at a low concentration, free from side effect on human body and useful for inhibiting the tyrosinase activity by adding to cosmetic, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective inhibitor contains a tea polyphenol (preferably epigallocatechin gallate, epicatechin gallate, epigallocatechin or epicatechin) as an active component. The tea polyphenol is e.g. tea catechin of formula I (R1 is H or OH; R2 is H or group of formula II). |
