PRODUCTION OF HIGH STRENGTH EXTRA FINE STEEL WIRE

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the method for producing a high strength extra fine steel wire capable of reducing the number of heat treatment and capable of improving the productivity without necessitating the atmospheric control for preventing surface oxidation and decarburization. CONSTITUTION:A hot rolled steel wire contg. 0.1 to 0.2wt.% C or a steel wire subjected to wire drawing is quenched by high-frequency heating to form a martensitic structure in which crystalline grains are made fine. After that, it is quenched by high-frequency heating at a temp. between the AC1 to the AC3 to form a structure in which a part of crystalline grains is formed into ferrite. Then the wire rod obtd. by this method is subjected to wire drawing into a desired wire diameter to form the extra fine steel wire.
