<p>PURPOSE:To record a character or image of high quality by calculating thermal effect from the scheduled energy individually applied to a plurality of heating elements and the scheduled energy applied to the adjacent heating elements and performing power control and current supply time control with respect to the individual heating elements. CONSTITUTION:The character and image data at every image transmitted from a printing buffer are converted to applied energy of the numbers of heating elements in an operation circuit 10. On the basis of a predetermined formula, thermal effect is operated from the scheduled energy individually applied to a plurality of the heating elements and the scheduled energy individually applied to the adjacent heating elements and, with due regard to this thermal effect, power control data and current supply time control data are operated. Next, the data are respectively transmitted to a power control circuit 13 and a current supply time control circuit 14 and control signals are outputted through the control circuits 13, 14 according to the output of a unit time counter 12. These control signals are inputted to a thermal head 11 through an AND circuit 15 to control the supply of a current to the respective heating elements.</p> |
