PRODUCTION OF NAPPED LINEN FABRIC

摘要

PURPOSE:To produce a napped linen fabric capable of imparting heat retaining property to cooling feeling which is a characteristic of linen fiber and having extremely comfortable feeling as a whole by applying napping treatment to linen woven fabric whose napping treatment was impossible hitherto. CONSTITUTION:A linen fiber having fine denier and mainly consisting of continuous filament and being <=10% in the content of short fibers having 3-6 denier average fineness and <=25mm length is subjected to mercerization treatment to apply crimping property and then spun to afford a linen yarn. The linen yarn is used as a weft and the weft and a warp are woven into a twill structure having a density of 30-60 numbers/2.5cm to afford a linen woven fabric and the linen woven fabric is subjected to mercerization and sanforization and then napped.
