PURPOSE:To obtain a PVA composition providing characteristics of excellent surface appearance, film strength, chemical resistance such as acid resistance and alkali resistance, not bonding even at a high humidity, rapidly dissolving in cold water in use as a packing material, and to produce a film from the composition. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt. itaconic acid-modified polyvinyl alcohol is blended with 0.1-20 pts.wt. water-soluble polymer selected from a polymer of a carboxyl group-containing monomer, its copolymer and a neutralized material of the polymers having <=80mol% degree of neutralization to give a polyvinyl alcohol composition, and a film is obtained from the composition. |
