PURPOSE:To provide an agent exhibiting a strong synergistic germicidal effect, capable of persistently sterilizing various industrial targets in low dosage and capable of preventing the generation of gases even for lignin waste water by adding methylene bisthiocyanate to a bishalogenoacetate ester. CONSTITUTION:The antigermic and antiseptic agent for industrial use contains both methylene bisthiocyanate and a bishalogenoacetate of the formula (X is halogen; Y is lower alkylene, lower alkenylene) preferably in a mixing ratio of 9:1 to 1:9 (weight ratio). The compound of formula I is preferably 1,4-bis(bromoacetoxy)-2-butene, 1,2-bis(bromoacetoxy)-ethane or 1,2-bis(bromoacetoxy)propane, etc. The antigermic and antiseptic agent gives good storage stability to the active ingredient, when a composition produced by dissolving the compound of the formula in a hydrophilic organic solvent is stored. The decomposition of the methylene bisthiocyanate added to a sterilization target is remarkably reduced, and the agent exhibits its potency for a long time. |
