<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a car from theft by furnishing a case with a collar, fitting the collar with a key cylinder, forming a key seat in the key cylinder, installing a tumbler to enable locking, providing a collar lock mechanism to make rotation lock and a handle lock pin, and generating possibility of maintaining the protruding state. CONSTITUTION:When a key is inserted in a key seat in a key cylinder 30 and it is turned in the direction to LOCK position, a collar 31 is fixed to a case 29 with operation of a collar locking mechanism, and only the cylinder 30 rotates to cause a handle lock pin to protrude and come into/out of the case 29, which results in locking or unlocking of the handle. If, however, any matter other than the key is inserted and the cylinder 30 is turned from LOCK position to ON position, an excessive torque is applied to the cylinder 30 and collar 31, and the collar 31 rotates together with the cylinder 30 through the action of the collar locking mechanism. Even though rotation takes place in the direction of disengagement, the lock pin 61 maintains its protruding state, and no disengagement occurs. Thereby the vehicle can be prevented from being stolen.</p> |
