PURPOSE:To improve the transparency, surface smoothness, abrasion resistance, etc., of a polyester molding such as a film or fiber by incorporating fine particles of a functional organic polymer which have low strength in deformation into a thermoplastic polyester. CONSTITUTION:Fine particles of an organic polymer having a functional group which have a 10%-deformation strength S10 satisfying the relationship of the formula are incorporated into a polyester [e.g. poly(ethylene terephthalate)] to produce the polyester composition. Examples of the particles include butyl acrylate/divinylbenzene copolymer particles and octyl acrylate/divinylbenzene copolymer particles. Due to the low strength, softness, and functional group, the particles incorporated have an improved affinity for the polyester and hence are less apt to fall off. |
