PURPOSE:To reduce an impact noise by installing more than one layer of a peripheral pipe on the circumference of a body pipe with a passage bend part, forming a buffer space in an interval between both these pipes, and sealing a liquid in this space. CONSTITUTION:A water hammer shock absorber 10 is provided with a body pipe 11 and a peripheral pipe 12, forming a buffer space 20 in an interval between both these pipes 11 and 12. A liquid 22 is sealed in this buffer space 20 via a liquid sealed hole 21 formed in a connecting flange 13. After liquid sealing, this sealed hole 21 is closed. In addition, a granule consisting of high specific gravity material such as lead or the like is sealable in a sealing liquid. In this constitution, energy in a pressure liquid by a water hammer is transmitted to the liquid 22 via a peripheral wall of the body pipe 11, thus an impact noise is absorbed. If powder is added at this time, this pressure wave energy turns to powder's kinetic energy, so the impact noise is yet more damped due to a collision among pulverulent bodies themselves. |
